26th November 2007  - Tony Laverack gave a fascinating talk on metal detection and local finds from the neolithithic through to the medieval periods. Highlights included a discussion of evidence of Anglo-Saxon lead smelting on Snake Lane, and this Saxon Shield Boss recently found in Chapel Garth (pictured with Robert Sampson and Tony Laverack).
