A historical walk around Fangfoss and Bolton
Guide: Steven Oliver
Welcome to the web community for the Bolton Local History Group. This site is always 'under development', and new content is being added all the time.
Bolton and Fangfoss are two small villages located in rural East Yorkshire. The Local History Group meets at 7:30pm on the last Monday of each month in Bolton Chapel. All are most welcome to join us for our meetings. (Click here for the current programme)
This site provides access to information, photographs and other resources gathered by the members of the group in the course of their research. We have begun to write some short articles on local history topics.
Please feel free to browse and contribute to this site. In particular have a look at the photos, we are gradually putting names to faces and places - but we need all the help we can get. We have launched a short 'local history trail' linking Fangfoss, Spittal and Bolton. The group is now participating in a FACHRS project, transcribing the local Fangfoss school log book.
