Welcome to the web community for the Bolton Local History Group. This site is always 'under development', and new content is being added all the time.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make our first exhibition on 12th April such a success! We will put some of the exhibits on to the web page in coming weeks.

Visitors at the first Local History Exhibition at Bolton Methodist Chapel - April 12th 2008
Bolton and Fangfoss are two small villages located in rural East Yorkshire. The Local History Group meets at 7:30pm on the last Monday of each month in Bolton Chapel. All are most welcome to join us for our meetings. (Click here for the current programme)
This site provides access to blogs, information, photographs and other resources gathered by the members of the group in the course of their research. Please feel free to browse and contribute to this site. In particular have a look at the photos, we are gradually putting names to faces and places - but we need all the help we can get. We welcome your feedback and look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings.
Since the beginning of the year the group has been working with the East Riding of Yorkshire Archives Service in their 'Rural Roots' project - for an update on what's been achieved so far click here
